All In.

img_2533As many of you know, the hashtag for this year’s Charity Ball is #AllInForUrbanMin. We voted, and decided this one sounded the best and encompassed our goal for this year. Though, I didn’t truly understand what “all in” meant until this Charity Ball season began. “All in” does not mean Student Council gets together and gives $120,000 for Urban Ministries. “All in” does not mean we get a few donations and then give up. All in does not mean our parents write checks and this goal is surpassed. We will not reach our goal unless parents, teachers, students, and the community join together to raise awareness for this honorable charity, and get them the $120,000 that they deserve.

“All in” means the entire student body, working together with teachers and the community to raise money for Urban Ministries. We need to, as a whole, make the decision to give this everything we have. On the night of December 10th, everyone in attendance needs to be proud of the check we reveal to Urban Ministries, knowing they did everything they could to propel us to reach our goal.

The women of the Helen Wright center don’t have any choice but to go all in every single day. They have to fight to find a place to sleep and a meal to eat. With the money from Enloe Charity Ball, these women will be able to continuously have a safe place to stay, a place to call home. Go all in and give these women what all humans deserve. Go all in and make a difference in the lives of the 4,000 homeless people in our community.

I am certain we can reach our goal for the 12th year in a row, now is the time to go #AllInForUrbanMin and raise $120,000 for Urban Ministries.
