Hospitality

Urban Ministries experience with the Enloe Charity Ball 2016 was nothing short of amazing. It’s less about the money than it is about the presence. We met an exceptional group of students giving an exceptional amount of time helping their community be a better place.

The students were hospitality and helpfulness personified.

Enloe student volunteers were everywhere: greeting people at our front desk and signing people into our programs, stocking shelves in our pantry, interpreting in our clinic, sitting side by side eating and laughing with women in our program for the homeless, and greeting and serving guests at our events.

Though the students were on a mission it felt like we at Urban Ministries were on the mission trip for, as anyone who has traveled for mission knows, it is we who were changed by the experience. It was we who learned to be more generous with our time and our talent and our treasure. We shared our smiles more readily and our laughter more easily. We held our breath in anticipation and lifted our hearts in joy and shared in celebration. We were again, for just a moment, students. Enloe students. We were honored.
