With a lump in our throat

Hushed, we wait
And as we stand there we know
That what we did this year
Made a difference that will show
We will proudly hold up a check for $200,000 on December 8th.
But after that day, it won’t be the amount on that check that I remember. I’ll remember the laughs of the IGNITE members I had the chance to form friendships with. I’ll remember the kindness of everyone I called excitedly about Charity Ball. I’ll remember the bonds I formed with the other members of Enloe Student Council.
After December 8th, I won’t remember the amount of money we put on that check. I’ll remember the community that made it all a reality.
