When I decided to run for student council advisor my freshman year, I wasn’t fully aware of what Enloe Charity Ball did for others. I knew that the Enloe Student Council raised money for a charity and planned a dance, but that was the extent of it. But being on Student Council the past 2 years has shown me the impact we have on our community. From seeing kids’ faces light up while playing games at the Neighbor2Neighbor Christmas party, to handing out groceries to CASA residents and decorating “Welcome Home” signs for Kings Ridge, witnessing how our efforts have a positive impact on the beneficiary we choose makes all the work from October to December worth it.
Each year, I look forward to attending the check presentation at Charity Ball, where we reveal the amount of money we have raised. Knowing that we were responsible for collecting this money and helping so many deserving people makes me so happy.
This has become one of my favorite parts of Student Council, and I am excited to continue participating in it with Note In The Pocket this year!
