Imagine, on a dark, cold winter night, the moon shines as a family shivers. Hungry. Freezing. Sick. Having to choose. Food? Electricity? Medicine? Thinking there is no hope. In desperate need of a hero. Ask yourself, what would you do? Can you even imagine?

100,000 Wake County neighbors can.

This year Enloe Charity Ball has set a heroic goal to help those having to make these difficult choices. Enloe Charity Ball has set out to be hero that raises $120,000 for Urban Ministries.  Enloe Charity Ball set out to be a hero for those who need it most, daily stuggles of hunger, homelessness, and lack of proper healthcare.

Last year, my biggest concern was what shoes to wear with my Charity Ball dress. Being on Stuco this year has opened my selfish eyes to the number of people in need of a hero. A true hero. I think Enloe Charity Ball is doing the unthinkable and it’s such an amazing thing Enloe does. Even though I wasn’t on Student Council last year I felt the joy and excitement they felt because of their passion for the charity. I joined Student Council mainly for Charity Ball so I could feel this same compassion and care for others.

The amazing thing about Enloe’s Charity Ball is that it has a secret weapon: the students. Whether it’s by spreading the word to their families and friends or even by simply selling tickets, the students are raising awareness for major issues in our community.  The student body of Enloe is filled with the heros of Charity Ball. Have you been a hero today?
