Be a part of the Change

It’s that time of the year…

Time to try our absolute hardest to raise thousands of dollars for charity. Time to annoy every single person until they consider donating. Time to make a change in our community. Of course it requires a tremendous amount of work, but it is all worth it in the end. There’s nothing like making people’s lives better by just taking a few minutes out of our days to show extra care for others.

We live in a world where some people do not have enough to provide for themselves, while others have more than enough but still don’t wish to give. We live in a world of cruelty and hatred. The gap between the world’s rich and poor has never been larger. Thousands, even millions, of people are forced to endure a life of poverty, while the wealthy continue to practice their selfish ways and not acknowledge how much they prosper while others suffer.

We attend a school that will not stop trying to end poverty once and for all in our community. We give and give and give until we reach the maximum goal possible. We attend a school filled with students who continue to show love and have hope for the future of our city. The gap between apathy and compassion becomes more narrow every single day as we near December 9th. We attend a school filled with students that are eager to make a difference in the precious lives that will be transformed.

Charity Ball is a student-led effort to raise funds for a local nonprofit. This year we will donate one hundred-fifty thousand dollars to the Raleigh/Wake Partnership to End and Prevent Homelessness. Enloe Student Council is filled with students who have realized we need change and  have decided that they were called to make a change. We will be a representation of how our world should be, citizens trying their hardest to support others.

I am blessed to be a part of a group of students making a difference in a world. I am blessed to be a part of change. Please consider donating to Charity Ball. I challenge you to be a part of the change.
