One definition of community is “a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals”. I have always loved being a part of something greater than myself. Enloe Charity Ball is a community filled with students, teachers, and leaders who work diligently to serve our greater Enloe community and those around it. I have always admired the work of the student council and I never truly understood all of the work that goes into Charity Ball until this year. This is my first year on student council and there are so many moving parts. Between fundraising, logistics, publicity, and volunteer work, it’s a lot. But the students in this organization are goal driven, committed, and excited about the work we are doing. This is the community that I am proud to be a part of. Especially after we were unable to hold a Charity Ball last year due to Covid, we are all doing our best to put on a fun and safe event. We are also having to be creative and make adjustments with our fundraising efforts.
I am so excited to be partnering with Haven House Services. After learning about who they are and what their goals and missions are I believe that they are a great organization who is deserving of our partnership. I think it is very important that we realize these organizations we partner with may be essential for kids we go to school with everyday. You never know what the person next to you may be going through, this is why I feel it’s important that we give back to our community. We all may not live or come from the same area but Enloe High School brought all of us together so it’s only right that we give back to the community we spent our high school years around. I’m excited to join a community filled with so many dedicated and talented people. I hope everyone who comes across the Enloe Charity Ball will see all of our hard work and join us in our efforts by donating. Let’s help our strong youth live out their bright futures together!
