The best part about Enloe Charity Ball is the community. The purpose of the dance is to benefit the Southeast Raleigh community, but its impact extends far beyond that. Every year, we set a more ambitious goal, and every year, through hard work and volunteering, we surpass that goal. The money we raise only goes to one charity, but the inspiration reaches much further. ECB sets an example by showing just how much can be achieved when people believe in a cause. Astonishingly, a high school program alone could raise hundreds of thousands of dollars, but it is possible through the community. Relatives, friends, and even companies from all across the nation donate every year, contributing to the ECB’s goal. This year is my fourth year as a student council member, and whether it is through sending emails or sorting clothes at Note in the Pocket, I am always glad to spend my time on ECB because I have learned just how impactful our student council can be when everyone does their part. While the goal we are working towards may seem intimidating, we will achieve it as a community.
