A Transformative Community

I’ve always known I wanted to help my community, but for a long time I doubted whether I could make a real impact. I mean, I was just one person; what difference could I really make? So, during freshman year, I decided to take a chance and run for Student Council.

I figured that I could still make a change, however small, and that it would still be meaningful. After the first meeting I attended, anything within the realm of small was no longer a word in my vocabulary, and doubt quickly left my mind. Honestly, I was overwhelmed by the sense of community I found within Student Council. Like-minded individuals, who shared a passion for actually bringing about change, surrounded me.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Enloe Charity Ball, and I’m thrilled that during my last year of high school, I’ll be able to experience such a special occasion. Charity Ball is more than just the money raised; it’s a reflection of how strong we are as a community, both within council and outside, with the lives touched through our acts of service. Student Council at Enloe is truly an experience like no other, and I’m so proud that I was able to experience this unique opportunity for all four years. I’m so excited to see how it’ll grow even after I’ve left, as I know that the talents within our community will only blossom with time.
