Enloe Charity Ball reflects deep passion and local engagement, but it also represents finding a community in and of itself. When I moved, ECB and Enloe Student Council became something I could look forward to, a place where I could meet new people, make friends, and get involved with both our school and the local community. I hadn’t seen a group of students so particular and enthusiastic about what they do, and I was surprised by the dedication everyone put forward. It motivated me to strive for improvement and to help others.
I was still new to everything in my junior year, and extremely unsure about who to talk to, what to do. But as the year progressed, I found a community within student council, and they helped me feel included and made me feel like I had people to lean back on if I ever needed anything. ECB’s mission is to help make our community stronger, and they truly made an impact on me. I cannot wait to continue this work, not only with my friends but because it gives me an opportunity to be involved in something I’m passionate about.
