The Most Valuable Currency

Beyond the money that we raise each year for a local non-profit, Enloe Charity Ball is a constant reminder to me that the most valuable currency is human connection and community. We are only able to reach our goals because of the connections we have built with each other, families, local businesses, and even large corporations. I have met so many student leaders from all grade levels who are passionate about creating change and making a difference in the local community. Seeing the combined efforts of each member inspires me to contribute as much as possible.

One of my favorite events this year has been caroling. We get to go around to different neighborhoods to spread joy during the holiday season while raising money for amazing organizations like Note in the Pocket. It’s incredibly uplifting to see the smiles on people’s faces and their support when we sing together.

Through other volunteering and school-wide events, ECB has provided me with a sense of belonging and purpose. Being part of a group where everyone is working towards the same goal makes even the small tasks feel meaningful. I am forever grateful to be a part of this organization. The milestones we have reached and will continue to reach serve as evidence for the power of human connection and community.
