A Community Effort

img_2422Community is rooted in giving and striving to come together to make an impact in people’s lives. It’s about immersing yourself into the problems that a community may face and work towards a way that begins to solve the problem. Enloe Student Council has been able to serve the community in a truly unique way. The sheer impact that Charity Ball, student leadership, and service gives is incredible. This year Urban Ministries will be a direct recipient of the service that Student Council is committed to but beyond that, children and their families will be immediately impacted. Charity Ball doesn’t just change a situation in the moment, it changes the course of even just one life. It assists in pulling a family out of crisis, it provides medical care to an adult in need, provides food for a hungry family, and so many other ways.
Community is about putting others before yourself. It starts with an idea; identifying a need among people. A seemingly small act can have an effect that spreads wildly. This season, I encourage you to make do something small. Donate money, learn about Urban Ministries, come to Charity Ball. Each and every thing that you do serves to build a foundation that will stand to change the lives in our school, neighborhoods, and everything surrounding. We hope to see you on December 10th to celebrate all that we as a community have achieved!

Anna Walker Schwab
