Happiness

img_2430We all wish we could have more things. More shoes. More clothes. More money. I have to say that I am guilty of this. I feel as if I need these things to be happy, but being on student council has changed my views on what I need. I have learned to be happy with what I have. My happiness now comes from being able to help people who don’t have those things.

Getting to work with Urban Ministries this year is truly an honor. I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to help people who don’t have a permanent home or don’t eat three meals every day. All of the student council members have individually shown me how dedicated they are to helping others and it astonishes me how much we can do if we really put our hearts into it.

I am so happy that I can be a part of this year’s Charity Ball. Charity Ball isn’t about who can raise the most money, but instead it’s a step toward making a great impact on the less fortunate. Hopefully this year’s Charity Ball will lead us to bigger achievements. I hope we will soon be able to help a larger population, outside of just the Raleigh community. This year’s Charity Ball is only the start of a new journey toward helping others.
