At the core of Enloe Charity Ball is a strong and supportive community, seeking to make a meaningful impact in the world. This community has remained consistently eager to help, from the very first Charity Ball in 2004 and certainly for years to come. My freshman year, Enloe Charity Ball’s fundraising goal was $100,000 for Learning Together, and now, four years later, we aim to raise twice that amount for The Autism Society of North Carolina.

This year, the money we raise for The Autism Society will go to their IGNITE Raleigh program, a unique community center for young adults with high functioning autism or Asperger’s syndrome. As individuals with autism finish high school, they often find themselves without the adequate resources to successfully navigate the next chapter of their independent lives. In fact, one in three young adults with autism has no paid job experience, college education, or technical training seven years after graduating from high school. IGNITE Raleigh is working to remedy this.

The center offers activities and educational groups that foster independence and social interaction, helping members work toward financial, educational, and employment success. IGNITE serves as a place where members can feel completely comfortable being themselves, surrounded by an encouraging and loving environment. Enloe Charity Ball is proud to partner with The Autism Society of North Carolina.

The Enloe community will need to put in more hard work than ever before to reach $200,000, but I know our goal is within reach. Join us, as we unite with IGNITE.
