Before my tenure on Student Council began, I saw Charity Ball as a once-in-a-lifetime experience that’s also for a great cause with donations to charity. With being a part of student council in tandem with in-person learning, Enloe Charity Ball has become much more than just a fun dance to raise money. Charity Ball is an organization that allows our student body to partner with major non-profit organizations (such as Haven House Services) that helps provide opportunities for kids in our greater community.
When I first was introduced to Haven House, it made an immediate impact on me. With their focus on at-risk youth, I had more of a connection from seeing the benefits within my own family. Seeing how the lives of my loved ones have been affected by services just like Haven House made me extremely passionate about reaching our $150k goal. I had the amazing opportunity to visit one of Haven House’s locations and seeing the community that is built within the facility was amazing. It felt like a home where any and everyone is welcome. Haven House really creates a support system and I’m honored to be a member of our student council who gets to help our local community achieve their dreams.
Enloe Charity Ball offers an extraordinary opportunity to make connections with the people like the ones at Haven House, who provide their Crisis relief efforts across the triangle. Supporting people this season has become increasingly important during the pandemic, where isolation and separation have oftentimes become the norm. Along with the amazing opportunity we are given within our community, Both Enloe Charity Ball alongside Haven House Services offer experiences that you simply can’t get anywhere else.
