Team

My whole life I’ve been told two is better than one. That the more you have, the better the outcome will be. I believed this but I never truly grasped this idea until being a part of Enloe Charity Ball, until I joined Enloe Student Council. Especially this year, I really got to experience the value of teamwork and see what great things can come from it.

Whether it’s from playing soccer or to doing a group project, I’ve always been a part of a team. Working together, putting in effort and time to achieve a goal feels somewhat natural to me. The best work comes out of a team that truly comes together and uses everyone’s skills to their fullest. But this doesn’t always pan out like it is supposed to. On the soccer field there will be people who want all the goals, people who will want to keep the ball all to themselves. But from what I have experienced those teams never win, they never succeed. It goes the same with school work, when a group everyone is supposed to do their job but when one person doesn’t, the final product comes out terrible. This case also goes or when one person tries to do everything themselves, it doesn’t end up well. Teamwork is a necessity for success and if it is used correctly, teamwork can lead to even greater achievements.

Being a part of the Student council and making the Charity Ball possible has truly been amazing. It’s been a life changing experience to watch everyone work in unison and make things happen especially during these challenging times. This is the first time I have seen so much dedication and effort put into a great cause. Where each person has a part to play, having everyone collaborating and everyone striving for success and near perfection. Student Council and Charity Ball is the true definition of teamwork.

For Charity Ball to raise 207k in the past and to be raising 150k now is utterly terrific. I can’t wait for what’s now to come, and I am excited to keep being a part of this amazing team. It’s like my dad always says, “there is no I in team”.
