Gratitude

As I have grown older, I have realized the importance of being grateful for the things that you have. Spending time wishing you have what other people have makes for unhappiness, and I have learned to appreciate everything I have now. I am grateful for my parents and brother, my friends, and my cat. I am grateful that I can drive myself places, and that I have my own room. I am grateful that I do not have to worry about the expense of visiting a doctor’s office when I am sick and that I never have to worry about where my next meal will come from.

I am grateful for the proximity of Alliance Medical Ministry which helps to build a strong relationship between our two communities. I have been in the Medical Bioscience Academy for all four years of high school, and I have heard a lot about AMM during my time at Enloe. We have partnered with them for different hygiene drives, and many of my peers job-shadowed employees at AMM. I have seen the work that AMM does firsthand, and I can say that I am impressed by their capabilities and just how much their services benefit their patients. As a person who wants to work in Public Health, I am so grateful for the opportunity to partner with AMM to not only provide healthcare to people in Raleigh that don’t have the work benefits to have insurance but also to improve the clinic by increasing the number of employees to reach more patients around Raleigh.

During this time of year, it is essential to express gratitude for everything you have, while also keeping in mind that others are not as fortunate. Enloe Charity Ball focuses on partnering with beneficiaries so that we can see the effect of our donation firsthand on Raleigh’s community. I urge you to donate to ECB today, not only help us to reach our goal but to also help expand healthcare to uninsured adults around Raleigh.
