This is my first and last time being a part of the Student Council in my high school experience. I wanted to join to be more connected to my school and the people in it. Being on the student council has always looked cool in movies, and I am glad I was able to join this enriching student community. Side by side, everyone works together to make this school year the best. From the very first meeting, we wasted no time working on back-to-school events and preparing for what was to come. Side by side, we made posters, participated in school spirit, and emphasized teacher appreciation. Everything in the Student Council is completed together, never individually.
Staying together side by side is the most important during this Charity Ball season. The workload has increased dramatically for the executive board, but we have remained strong. From sending emails every second we have a chance to creating fundraising events to raise money, we do it together. We can achieve so much through collaboration and teamwork. My first contact with the Student Council was caroling last year for NHS. Though I was there for service hours, I witnessed a greater purpose behind all the singing. We met people that knew of our cause and even some who already supported the charity, we brought joy to many families that night. We raised so much money that day and got to spread the word about the charity to the neighborhood; it was a fulfilling experience that I will never forget!
This year, I want this to be the best Charity Ball, not just for me but for everyone. We have already achieved part of that by having the most people attend in all of Enloe’s history and selling out so quickly! Everyone has put in all of their hard work, and that has shown through what we are achieving right now. I am so excited to see all of the happy faces during this event for charity. Side by side, we worked so hard for this, and side by side, we will finish this together.
