Connections

It was 2020 and school had gone from two weeks of closure to a year. Being at home all day, barred from any kind of social interaction, some of us came back the next year prepared and ready to meet new people. But others came back too scared to converse with anyone, and for them it took more work to regain what was lost.

After that year back I promised myself that I’d start high school with a better start and talk to more people. What better way to talk to people than to put myself on a pedestal and ask people to donate money for a good cause.

I’ve talked to so many people over these two years, being proud about the things we do in Student Council and just being alive with purpose. I never thought I would reach this point in my life where I know so many people who are as proud as I am to be able to contribute to such a good cause.

As a part of Charity Ball, I’ve learned to slowly work my way out of my comfort zone and join different volunteer groups and nonprofits. There’s so many amazing people to get to know; Everyone has a goal and is working extra hard to achieve it. I can’t wait to get to know so many more people while continuing to work with Enloe Charity Ball.
