I first heard of Enloe Charity Ball in 2017. An organization run by high school students? I remember thinking, They’re just kids, how can they raise so much money? That year, Enloe Student Council beat their goal and raised over $205,000.
What Enloe Student Council accomplished inspired me to prove that even though I was young, I could make an impact. I joined student council my freshman year and I currently serve as VP of Service. I encourage all of my council members and fellow Enloe students to take part in attaining our goal through planning events or volunteering. I show them it wasn’t just a set of particular students, with particular talents or connections that got lucky. It was taking initiative, having tenacity, putting in a grueling amount of work, and undoubtedly believing that we could once again do the seemingly impossible.
