Impact

I never really imagined that just one person could have any real impact on a large community or organization. But somehow, throughout this Charity Ball season, I have been proven wrong time and time again. From contacting potential donors through email or calling small businesses to secure food, I realized that every person in our student council plays a role in the success of Charity Ball as a whole, and none of us could succeed without each other.

Within our large student council group, there are five committees that each work to do different tasks. I am part of the logistics committee, and I have been finding and calling different small businesses with my peers to gather food donations for Charity Ball. At every meeting, I see students working on the publicity committee to promote our causes and raise awareness. I see peers in the service committee planning school events and tournaments. There is so much more that I don’t see that goes into the success of Charity Ball and our student council. Each of us has individual tasks we accomplish, and the tasks we complete individually come together to make an impact on the overall goal.

Our individual work has created a more tight-knit community throughout our organization, the Enloe student body, and the organization we partner with. Working with my peers has shown me that each of us, by doing just a little bit of good as individuals, has helped knit this community together, and that we are gaining experiences that we will remember for the rest of our lives. If being in Enloe Student Council has taught me anything, it is that individuals can create greater change than one might think, and that each and every person can impact their community for good.
